Do they smell? Like heaven. Do they have fragrance? No.
In skin care, the words 'fragrance' and 'parfum' refer to the secret list of chemicals that make up the smell. Protected by law as trade secrets, companies are legally protected from disclosing which of the myriad of known neurotoxins, carcinogens, hormone disrupters, endocrine disruptors, and asthma inducers they use.
So do our products have a secret list of harmful chemicals hiding behind their cloying smell? No.
Do their lovely scents come from the natural ingredients, every single one of which we display loud and proud in as big of letters as we can fit on the label? Absolutely.
Hypoallergenic is a meaningless word that has no legal definition. However, stick it on a bottle of something and you can charge more money for it.
TRE products are what you expect hypoallergenic to be. They are free of chemicals, alcohol, petroleum products, and the skin irritants present in most other products.
That being said, TRE products will never have the word 'hypoallergenic' on the label, because we would hate add to the misconception that you can trust it.
When dealing with eczema, it is nearly impossible to find a product that actually provides relief instead of making your skin burn. However, it is important to remember that it is not just the product that provides relief that matters - it is everything you put on your skin. It is counter productive to use a product for eczema relief while all your other products are only making the eczema worse.
To that end, the products that have been overwhelmingly voted as best for eczema relief have been Simply Body Butter, followed by Simply Lotion as a close second. The difference between the two being that Simply Body Butter has more beeswax and the added benefit of mango butter.
When you're ready for a cleanser that soothes instead of stings, pick the Citrus Morning Facial Cleanser or 3-in-1 Shave Cream. You may want a clay mask at some point that doesn't give you a rash. Same with a shaving regimen.
So as far as to which product would I suggest? As someone who used to struggle with eczema so bad that I had to go so far as to start my own all-natural, handcrafted skin care company to find any skin care product that was safe use, I would say:
All of them.
As a general rule, go with what you feel like. When you need water, you're thirsty. If you are a little low on vitamins, you might crave fruit. When my face or body feels dry, I use my Simply Lotion or Simply Body Butter. When my skin feels like it needs a little treat, I use my Age-Defying Facial Serum. Same for areas with stretch marks, redness, or blemishes. Large pores, acne, hives, or just feeling like a spa day? Go for that Detoxifying Clay Mask, you've earned it. During the summer, when it's hot and humid and I don't have to worry about dry skin, after I wash my face and spritz my rosewater toner I may use the facial serum more and use my lotion much less. If I'm going to spend some time in the sun, I'll prep my skin with my lotion in the morning before using sunscreen. While I'm outside, I have my rosewater toner close by. It helps with itchy skin from allergies or bug bites, heat stress, and sunburn. After the sun, I reapply my lotion, as studies have shown that most of the ingredients I make it with help reverse the damage caused by the sun. When to exfoliate with the Cappuccino Scrub? Always use before shaving, otherwise when you get out of the shower and towel yourself off, if you see the dead skin rolling on your arm as you rub it, you're due for exfoliation. Hop back in there and finish the job.
You don't need a chemical cleanser to hijack your skin's natural cycle. Use all-natural products, and take back control of your own skin.
Yes. The shave cream is for anyone who shaves, anywhere they want to shave.
